In a shocking incident in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, an altercation between two young women and an elderly couple escalated into violence, sparking widespread outrage. The incident, which occurred in Hyde Park society, was captured on video and has since gone viral, with many condemning the actions of the young women.
The video shows the two women walking their dog when they were confronted by an elderly couple. According to reports, the couple had apparently reprimanded the women, which led to a heated argument. In the footage, one of the women can be heard warning the elderly couple, “I can do lots of things. Don’t touch me.” Her friend then intervened and, without hesitation, slapped the elderly woman while shouting, “Don’t touch her. Aisa thappad maarungi main (I will slap you)!” The situation only worsened from there as she also proceeded to strike the elderly man.
The confrontation quickly spiralled into chaos, with bystanders expressing shock. A man recording the video was heard yelling in disbelief, “How could you hit him?” The commotion prompted other residents to rush to the scene. One of them can be seen pushing the young women away while chastising them for their behaviour.
“Excuse me, I need help,” said the man filming, urging others to step in. When asked what had happened, he explained, “The girl hit the elderly man. The couple scolded her because their pet dog was not on a leash.” Interestingly, in the video, the dog appears to be on a leash, though it remains unclear what initially triggered the altercation.
Following the incident, the young women faced severe criticism on social media, with many calling for immediate action against them. “This incident is quite unfortunate and disturbing. Such behaviour, especially towards the elderly, is unacceptable. It highlights the growing lack of patience and respect in society,” one user commented. Another added, “They should be arrested immediately.”
This incident underscores the rising tensions in public spaces, particularly around pet-related issues. While pets are often a source of joy, disputes over their handling—such as whether they are leashed—can quickly become flashpoints for conflict.
