Blinkit has revolutionized emergency medical response by launching a 10-minute ambulance service in Gurugram, starting today. This rapid-response initiative aims to address the critical need for timely medical aid in urban areas. The first fleet of five ambulances is now operational, with plans for nationwide expansion in the next two years.
Albinder Dhindsa, CEO and co-founder of Blinkit, shared on January 2: “Ambulance in 10 minutes. We are taking our first step towards solving the problem of providing quick and reliable ambulance service in our cities.” He also revealed that citizens will soon be able to book Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances through the Blinkit app as the service grows. Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal also shared his reaction to the post.
The ambulances come equipped with life-saving essentials such as oxygen cylinders, Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), stretchers, monitors, suction machines, and emergency medications. Each vehicle is staffed by a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver to ensure seamless care during emergencies.
Blinkit’s Commitment To Affordable Emergency Services
Operating on a not-for-profit model, Blinkit ensures that the service remains affordable while maintaining high-quality standards. Dhindsa emphasized the importance of public cooperation, urging people to make way for ambulances, as every second counts in saving lives.
This initiative has garnered widespread praise, including support from Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma and Nothing CEO Carl Pei. Blinkit, acquired by Zomato in 2021, continues to strengthen its quick commerce capabilities, offering diverse services from grocery delivery to emergency aid.
Zomato Limited’s stock showed a positive trend, closing at ₹284.85 on the NSE, reflecting a 3.02% increase. This highlights the growing trust in the company’s innovative ventures.
Blinkit’s new service sets a benchmark in emergency medical response, reaffirming its commitment to community welfare.
