The incident unfolded when flight AI 173 departed from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 12:05 am (IST) on Tuesday. Its scheduled arrival time in San Francisco was 7 pm (local time); however, due to an issue with one of the engines, the aircraft was compelled to make an unscheduled landing at the Sokol airport near Magadan at 1:30 pm (local time).
