₹25 Lakh Contract to Kill Salman Khan: Chilling Assassination Plot Unveiled by Navi Mumbai Police

A recent chargesheet filed by the Navi Mumbai Police has unveiled a chilling conspiracy to assassinate Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, with a contract worth ₹25 lakh taken out for the hit near his farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra. The chargesheet, naming five individuals, revealed that the assassination plot was orchestrated by the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, whose leader is currently imprisoned. The plan involved obtaining advanced firearms, including AK-47s, AK-92s, and M-16s, from Pakistan, as well as the Turkish-made Zigana pistol, the same weapon used in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

The chargesheet also highlights that the gang had recruited minors, boys under the age of 18, to carry out the hit on Salman Khan. These individuals are reportedly hiding in various locations across Pune, Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, and Gujarat. The network monitoring Salman Khan’s movements was extensive, with around 60 to 70 people keeping tabs on his whereabouts, particularly at his Bandra home, his Panvel farmhouse, and the Goregaon Film City. The investigation further revealed that the conspiracy to kill the actor was planned over several months, from August 2023 to April 2024.

One of the key figures in this plot is Sukkha, a gang member who was arrested in Panipat, Haryana. Sukkha is alleged to have assigned the task to a designated shooter, Ajay Kashyap, also known as AK, along with four other conspirators. Kashyap and his team conducted a thorough recce of Salman Khan’s movements and security arrangements. They concluded that the actor’s tight security, including bulletproof vehicles, necessitated the use of high-end weapons to successfully execute the murder.

In an alarming development, it was uncovered that Sukkha had contacted a Pakistan-based arms dealer named Dogar via video call. During the call, Sukkha negotiated the terms of the arms deal, displaying AK-47s and other advanced firearms wrapped in a shawl. Dogar agreed to supply the weapons, and Sukkha promised to pay 50 percent of the agreed amount upfront, with the remainder to be paid upon the delivery of the firearms in India.

The investigation also revealed that the hitmen involved in the plot were waiting for final approval from Canada-based gangster Goldie Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Bishnoi, before proceeding with the assassination attempt. The chargesheet further details the gang’s post-assassination escape plan. The shooters planned to regroup in Kanyakumari after killing the 58-year-old actor, from where they would flee to Sri Lanka by boat. Their ultimate goal was to escape to a country where Indian investigative agencies would have difficulty reaching them.

The conspiracy came to light during the investigation into an earlier incident involving gunfire outside Salman Khan’s Bandra residence. The police linked this event to the broader plot to kill the actor at his Panvel farmhouse. The revelation of the assassination plot has raised significant concerns, and security around Salman Khan has since been tightened, particularly following the recent murder of former Maharashtra minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddique. Siddique, a former MLA from Bandra, was shot near Nirmal Nagar in Bandra, which has further heightened tensions in the area.

The chargesheet underscores the lengths to which organized criminal gangs are willing to go to target high-profile individuals. The involvement of international arms dealers, as well as gangsters based in Canada and Pakistan, indicates the scale and complexity of the conspiracy. Despite the actor’s robust security arrangements, the plot highlights the persistent threats faced by prominent figures in India.

As the investigation continues, authorities are working to track down all those involved in the conspiracy, including the minors hired for the assassination attempt. The network of individuals surveilling Salman Khan’s movements and the advanced weaponry involved have raised concerns about the increasing sophistication of such criminal plots. While the police have successfully disrupted this particular plan, it serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges posed by organized crime and the need for constant vigilance in protecting high-profile targets.

For now, Salman Khan remains under heightened security as authorities work to dismantle the network involved in this assassination conspiracy. The chargesheet, with its detailed account of the plot, has shed light on the dangerous and calculated nature of the criminal underworld and its willingness to go to extreme lengths in pursuit of its objectives.
