He is successful because he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and this is the reason why I am not a billionaire today! But some people hail from poverty but never took it as their weakness, instead were always so positive about their dreams that they are Billionaires today! These people proved that for success, a person needs to do hard work, have patience and consistency! Read the shocking stories of Billionaires who have written their own story, from ‘rags to riches’, in golden letters.

1. Lakshmi Mittal the Steel Tycoon of India:

He was born into a middle-class family of Rajasthan, and he is the living example of a man who writes his own fortune by his efforts and hard work. His transformation from ‘being a boy born in a poor family of Rajasthan to the richest steel tycoon’ almost took two decades for its completion! The entire nation is proud of this man, and he has still kept his roots alive and attached to his motherland India! He has taught us that success may come and go, but a man must remember this, ‘No matter wherever you go, you should always remember where you came from!”

2. Mohed Altrad, President of Montpellier Rugby Club:

This man has gained all our respect, not because he is successful, but because he has seen the darkest days in his life and still stood firm. He was born in a nomadic tribal family of Syria. His poor mother was raped and killed, and he was raised by his grandmother, who prohibited him from attending school, but he did anyway! He had survived on just one meal a day when he first moved to France to attend university! But Mohed did not get disheartened, instead, he persevered and climbed the ladder of success. He has won the award of French Entrepreneur of the year and world entrepreneur of the year!

3. Roman Abramovich, owner of Chelsea Football Club and a Russian Business Tycoon:

He was born into a poor family and was orphaned at the age of two. Being raised in a ‘sub-Arctic region’ of Northern Russia is not easy right? Still, he opened a small business alongside his studies, which supported him in his future endeavours! He founded an oil business, and paved his way from poverty towards being a billionaire!

4. Do Won Chang, Founder of Forever 21:

Don’t get misguided by his sweet smile as it holds the legendary stories of the hardships in life that he has gone through, to gain the position where he stands now. Nothing in his life has come easy. When he moved to America from Korea, he had to work three jobs, one after another, to meet the requirements of his dream! From one clothing store to 480 stores of Forever 21, Do Won has become an inspiration for the youth and budding entrepreneurs.

5. Jan Koum, founder of WhatsApp:

Do you know the founder of your favourite chatting app, hails from an economically weak family background? Yes, he was not always a rich man, and even had to sweep the floors at a local store to survive when he came to California with his mother. He himself has acquired his computer skills! Can you believe this, that the man who co-founded the world’s most significant messaging service never had a formal computer training and it was his own hard work! (Facebook purchased WhatsApp in the year 2014 at 22$ billion)

6. Howard Schultz of Starbucks:

No he was not born rich; instead, he spent his childhood in a housing complex made for the poor. He always imagined ‘what it would be like to be rich with abundant resources near you?’ So, he worked hard and won a football scholarship and attended the University of Northern Michigan. He worked for Xerox after his studies and later opened a coffee shop named Starbucks, which is now has 16,000 outlets around the globe.

7. Oprah Winfrey, the first African American TV host:

She was born into an economically weak family in Mississippi. But she was a hard-working woman, so she worked to win a scholarship to Tennessee State University and became a TV Correspondent at a teenage of 19! She then started her own talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and the rest is history.

8. Shahid Khan, Businessman:

He is one of the richest men on the earth, but his journey from ‘Pakistan to USA’ was not a cakewalk, trust us! We worked many part time jobs and even had to clean the dirty dishes every day to put himself through university. He worked as a dishwasher, and now he owns Flex-N-Gate, which is one of USA’s largest private companies.

So, think before you say the words like ‘you can’t’, ‘it’s impossible’, and ‘I don’t have sufficient resources’, or ‘I have no one to support me in my dreams!’

These people are a living proof that if a man works hard, thinks right, and is not afraid to follow his passion, they will surely attain success in their life!

“It might take some time, it might be late, but it will arrive, and you will have what you dreamt about!”
