Ayodhya Verdict 2019: Temple to be built on disputed land, Muslim side will get land in Ayodhya

The Supreme Court has pronounced its verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babari Masjid dispute. The constitutional bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has unanimously declared the disputed land as Ramlala.

He has ordered five acres of alternative land for Muslims to build a mosque.

The court said that the central government must form a trust for the construction of the temple on the disputed land, for which the center will have to make rules within three months. Read what the court said in the decision so far.

  • For the construction of a temple on the disputed land, the central government should form a trust, rules should be made for this within three months. This land will still remain with the central government. Which will later be given to the trust.
  • Ramlala disputed land, order for Muslims to be given alternative land to build mosque. This land will be given to the Sunni Waqf Board.
  • It is clear that Muslims prayed inside the inner courtyard and Hindus prayed in the outer courtyard.
  • There is no evidence that the Muslims left the mosque. Hindus always believed that the birthplace of Lord Rama was in the inner courtyard of the mosque.

  • Hindu Used to worship the kitchen. The evidence in the record indicates that the exterior of the disputed land was occupied by Hindus.
  • The ASI has not been able to prove that the mosque was built by demolishing the temple. Muslims prayed here till 1949.
  • There is evidence that Hindus used to worship Rama Chabootara and Sita Rasoi before the arrival of British. The evidence on record shows that the exterior of disputed land was occupied by Hindus.
  • No evidence to read Namaz in 1856–57. Even before 1856, Hindus worshiped inside the temple.
  • The Babri Masjid was not built on vacant land. The underground structure was not Islamic. The findings of the ASI proved that the temple was under the destroyed structure.
  • Hindus believe that Lord Rama was born under the main dome. Faith is a matter of personal belief.

  • There is no dispute about this belief of Hindus and their belief that Lord Ram was born in Ayodhya.
  • The case cannot be decided solely on the basis of the ASI results. Who owns the land should be decided according to the law.
  • The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) is beyond doubt and its study cannot be ignored.
  • The Supreme Court rejected the Nirmohi Akhara claim.
  • The Supreme Court rejected the Shia Waqf Board’s claim.
