Protests took place outside the Jama Masjid in Delhi, Seelampur, Jor Bagh and Zafarabad after the second consecutive Friday prayers against the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC. Bhim Army activists also participated in this. Thousands of people shouted slogans against the government. However, there was no violence during protest. Police were ready in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi in view of the possibility of violence. 10–10 volunteers were stationed outside each mosque.

19 people died during violence in Uttar Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh, mobile internet was shut down in 21 districts including Lucknow, Moradabad, Amroha, Sambhal, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Kanpur, Sitapur, Shamli, Bulandshahar, Saharanpur, Firozabad and Mathura. Last Friday, 19 people died in violence during demonstrations in 22 districts of Uttar Pradesh. UP DGP OP Singh said that the law and order situation was completely under control. On Friday, Internet service has been closed in 21 districts.

Administration in sensitive districts on alert
Kanpur: Violence took place in Babupurwa and Yatimakhana last Friday. IG Mohit Aggarwal said – He has appealed to the religious leaders of the Muslim community to cooperate. With the deployment of police, the intelligence system is also active.

Muzaffarnagar: Apart from Meenakshi Chowk, a sensitive area, there is a police gathering with security forces in three other areas. Mosques have security. Flag march is going on under the leadership of officials in sensitive areas.

Meerut: Magistrates are stationed with security forces in sensitive areas. The responsibility of the people has been fixed so that no one should be able to gather. DM Anil Dhingra said – In the meeting of Peace Committees, people have been told that if they have to say what they want, then they can put their sides in writing through their religious leaders. 14 people are being monitored through surveillance and other means which may be involved in spreading violence.

Bijnor: In sensitive areas one company of ITBP, and 6 company of PAC is deployed. The suspects are being monitored with six drone cameras and 259 intelligence cameras. The administration told people about the citizenship law in the Peace Committee meetings and appealed for peace.

Etawah: SAP Santosh Kumar Mishra played a cricket match with the Muslim community on Thursday for the restoration of peace. During this time, social leaders, religious leaders of the Muslim community were present. However, security forces are deployed in precautionally sensitive areas.

Where is internet off
Internet is closed in 21 districts including Lucknow, Moradabad, Amroha, Sambhal, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Kanpur, Sitapur, Shamli, Bulandshahr, Saharanpur, Firozabad and Mathura. The DGP has said that they will restore internet service as per the situation.
