COVID -19 pandemic has forced us to rethink and reinvent our ‘way of living’.
It has impacted all alike irrespective of nationality, religion, race, or creed.
COVID -19’s impact on personal lives and its onslaught has begun to reflect in the corporate and business sector as well.
Victoria Secret, Zara, Chanel, Hermes, Rolex, Starbucks, Nike are just a few internationally known brands that have either had to file for bankruptcy or have curbed their production, and new names are being added on to this list every day.
Closer home, Indian businesses also caught in the grip of the COVID -19 pandemic, have had to resort to giving, the pink slip to a number of its employees.
Praveen Kumar, nicknamed ‘The Running Man’, recently laid off by the company he worked for, is not letting this streak of bad luck affect his morale.
His determination to overcome adversity brought on by the pandemic and to not let the situation get the better of him is commendable.
Praveen took this misfortune and turned it into an opportunity for himself and in doing so, he is also making a difference in the lives of many people.
His tryst with running began in 2009 when he saw a group of runners ready to participate in a municipal run. He participated in the run without prior registration and completed the run but avoided the finish line as he was an unregistered participant.
Thus began his love for running and he has participated in several running events since then.
He has now combined his love for running with a worthy cause.
Move2Feed campaign (Bangaluru) is an initiative and a team effort of 20 men who have vowed to run 20 km for 20 days.
The objective is to provide free meals and support those who might have lost their income due to the pandemic.
Through the Move2Feed campaign, Praveen chooses to combine his passion for running and also supports a cause that is close to his heart.
His efforts are in the hope that it will serve as an inspiration to people to not give up, but to continue to work towards their goals irrespective of the challenges thrown by the COVID -19 pandemic.
Praveen’s, loss did not affect his grit and determination and despite losing his job in these tough times, he has transformed his loss into an opportunity and turned his passion for running into a medium to inspire and feed as many as he can.
To date, the Move2Feed campaign has helped serve 664 families in Nandini Nagar and Ramnagar, Bangaluru with free meals and hope to increase this number through their continued effort and dedication.
