Ram Temple construction is on track for completion by June 2025, according to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Mishra. Mishra shared updates on the progress, mentioning that the completion includes the temple’s rampart and shoe racks, which will take until September 2025 to finish. Mishra emphasized that the construction of the rising tower is under careful review for aviation safety, which remains one of the key challenges.
Ram Temple’s Key Milestones and Challenges
The committee’s ambitious timeline for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya involves substantial progress in various areas. Mishra pointed out that, while the construction of the temple’s main structure is expected to be completed by mid-2025, the ramparts and shoe racks require additional work, pushing their completion to September 2025. Additionally, Mishra highlighted the creation of 85 murals, of which 60 are already in progress. Murals, including six depictions of Lord Ram, have been completed as part of the temple’s museum, which will add to the cultural significance of the site.
Mishra also mentioned that new titanium lattices are being produced for the Parikrama (the circumambulatory path) on the ground and upper floors, further enhancing the temple’s grandeur. The construction team is keen on meeting their target deadlines despite challenges, especially concerning the rising tower, which is being closely monitored for aviation safety regulations.
Ram Temple’s Rampart Construction Progress
The rampart is an essential feature of the temple complex, with 8,40,000 cubic feet of stone required for its construction. Mishra reported that about 3 lakh cubic feet remains to be laid, and the goal is to complete the 1 km-long rampart, which includes six temples, by June 2025. The rampart’s progress is a critical step towards fulfilling the timeline and ensuring the temple’s full completion.
Mishra also revealed that the final inspection of the statues for the temple will take place in Jaipur by the first week of January. The team is also working on the design and technical details for a pool to be placed at the center of the temple complex. In addition, Mishra mentioned that the four gates of the temple would be named after revered saints from Ayodhya.
The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Shri Ram Lalla, a significant moment in the temple’s journey, was conducted on January 22, 2023, with Prime Minister Modi performing the Vedic rituals.
