Navy Officers Parachute Incident occurred during the Eastern Naval Command’s Operational Demonstration rehearsal at Rama Krishna Beach in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Two naval officers experienced a dramatic moment when their parachutes became entangled during descent. Despite the mishap, both officers were unharmed and safely reached the shore.
The incident, which was captured on video, showed one officer descending with the national flag while the other officer’s parachute got stuck, causing them to lose height rapidly. They landed in the water near the shore, where a navy rescue boat promptly brought them to safety.
The rehearsal drew significant public attention, with many people present at the beach to witness the preparations. The event, scheduled for the following day, will be attended by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu as the chief guest.
The Operational Demonstration will highlight the Indian Navy’s advanced capabilities through a meticulously choreographed sequence of events. These include live demonstrations by warships, submarines, aircraft, and the elite Marine Commandos (MARCOS).
Visitors can also expect thrilling high-speed maneuvers, amphibious assault displays, live slithering operations, and Combat Free Fall performances. Additionally, cultural highlights such as the Horn Pipe Dance by the Sea Cadets Corps and the Beating Retreat Ceremony by the Eastern Naval Command band add a unique touch to the event.
This rehearsal underscores the Navy’s commitment to precision and safety, even in the face of unexpected challenges.
