Aero India 2025 is set to redefine India’s position in the global aerospace and defence ecosystem. Scheduled from February 10 to 14 at Bengaluru’s Air Force Station, this premier biennial event is themed “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities”, emphasizing technology transfer, indigenisation, and partnerships to advance India’s aerospace ambitions.
Focus On Indigenisation And Technology Transfer
The event underscores India’s drive toward self-reliance in defence production under the Make-in-India initiative. According to the Defence Ministry, Aero India 2025 will serve as a significant platform to promote agreements, partnerships, and collaborations between Indian and foreign firms. The goal is to fast-track indigenisation, which is expected to surpass ₹75,000 crore, boosting India’s position in the global aerospace value chain.
“The event will provide a platform for forging partnerships between foreign and Indian firms and the discovery of newer avenues in the global value chain to accelerate the indigenisation process,” the ministry stated.
Business And Diplomatic Focus
The first three days of the event, February 10-12, will be designated as business days, with high-profile meetings scheduled between Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan, and other global defence leaders. The Defence Ministers’ Conclave, themed “BRIDGE – Building Resilience through International Defence and Global Engagement”, will aim to strengthen international defence collaborations and economic ties.
Spectacular Aerial Displays
Public days, February 13 and 14, will feature dynamic aerial manoeuvres by modern fighter jets, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles, offering an unforgettable experience for attendees. The visual spectacle is expected to draw massive crowds, much like previous editions.
A Legacy Of Excellence Since 1996
Aero India has been a vital platform for showcasing India’s defence and aerospace advancements since its inception in 1996. The 2023 edition witnessed participation from 98 countries, 809 exhibitors, and over 700,000 visitors, marking its global prominence.
Aero India 2025 aspires to surpass these milestones, reflecting India’s growing influence in aerospace and defence sectors. By fostering partnerships and accelerating local manufacturing, this event will further India’s ambition of becoming a global aerospace leader.
