Naagin 4 actress Nia Sharma has recently opened up about her journey & personal experience on the pressure of looking ten on ten always. The actress revealed that since she was in the 3rd position of Asia’s sexiest woman in 2016, people started to see her as someone who has a good figure & is healthy and fit. She explained that she had tried & always tries to be fit & healthy but sometimes, due to unfortunate reasons or physiological facts tend you to gain some weight.
“For the past few years, I have suffered from the fear of getting out of shape. I was obsessed with my weight, and if I put on even one kilo, I would start fretting and fuming over it. So much so that my conversations with my friends were all about my weight worries. And to look a particular way, I ended up starving myself,” said the actress.
Nia went onto explain that she had a rigorous diet that she had to follow. She never had cheat days because eating junk would giver her anxiety, or she uses to throw up. The actress also revealed that she used to feel guilty when she overate anytime.
She revealed that actors, Arjun Bijlani & Ravi Dubey spoke to Nia about her obsession over not gaining weight and being harsh on her body. The actors explained Nia that whatever she’s doing is not healthy and is going to come back to her in a few years if she doesn’t stop.
The Jamai Raja actress urged young girls or women who are obsessed over their weight and follow some strict diet to stop. She asked them to be reasonable about gaining a kilo or a two because that’s going to happen.
A few years ago, the actress spoke & her tweets read body shaming other actresses like Daisy Shah, Sonakshi Sinha & Vidya Balan over them being overweight. In an interview, Nia was asked if she is offered a movie in Bollywood where she had to put on some extra kilos would she do that? Nia claimed that she would never put on extra kilos as Vidya Balan did for The Dirty Picture, which she hasn’t been able to lose till now.
The actress who shot to fame with serial “Ek Hazaaro Mein Meri Bhena Hai” legit said that she would either let go of that kind of offer or will commit suicide if she looks at her body gaining weight.
Ouch. That’s too harsh Nia.
Where everyone is trying to normalize the body stereotypes, an actress like Nia Sharma who has a famous name & fame among the young generation goes on to say something like this puts everything positive in a bad situation. Well, it’s good to know that she has finally understood that being fit & healthy is more than just a flat tummy and this obsession is very harmful.

Nia is not the kind of person who would accept trolls lightly. She knows how to give it back to them in her way. So, Nia handled this “troll” by the reply “I have NO PR team to this day babe. I’m a natural, I guess.”
To support the actress, Big Boss 10 fame Bandagi Kalra wrote back to the troll by stating that he must have met the wrong bhelpuri wala. She went onto say that he has no idea how much hard work it takes to be an actor and Nia has reached a level.
The actress will be on Ekta Kapoor’s “Naagin 4”. She was recently seen on the web series Jamai Raja 2.0 alongside Ravi Dubey, which was a sequel of the hit Jamai Raja show where Nia played a lead.
