Army Vehicle Attacked By Terrorists In Jammu and Kashmir

Just hours after terrorists shot and injured a laborer in the Batgund Tral area of Pulwama district, an Indian army vehicle was attacked in Jammu and Kashmir’s Gulmarg on Thursday evening, leaving two soldiers injured. The incident occurred in the Botapathri area, where terrorists opened fire on the vehicle, as reported by PTI, citing unnamed officials.

The laborer injured in the Pulwama attack has been identified as Pritam Singh, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. Following the attack, security forces reached the area to conduct investigations. This was the third attack on non-local laborers in Kashmir within the past week, raising concerns about the safety of migrant workers in the region.

Earlier in the day, several political leaders strongly condemned the ongoing terror attacks in Kashmir since the formation of the new government. They called for decisive measures to prevent further incidents and ensure the safety of migrant workers. On October 20, a particularly tragic attack took place when a doctor and six construction workers were killed at a tunnel construction site on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in the Ganderbal district.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah was in New Delhi to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the meeting, Abdullah handed over a resolution seeking the early restoration of statehood to the union territory. The meeting lasted over 30 minutes, during which the chief minister discussed various issues related to Jammu and Kashmir, including the current security situation and ongoing development projects, according to PTI sources. In a gesture of goodwill, Abdullah also presented a traditional Kashmiri shawl to Prime Minister Modi.

Earlier that day, Abdullah also held discussions with Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, further emphasizing the need for coordinated efforts to address the security and development challenges faced by Jammu and Kashmir.
