Chief Minister said- “time to forget misunderstandings”
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has again reiterated that ‘we have to join the fight to save democracy with the spirit of forget and forget, forgive and move forward. The Congress fight is to save democracy under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. In the last one month, whatever misconduct has happened in the Congress, it should be forgotten in the interest of the country, in the interest of the state, in the interest of the people and in the interest of democracy”.
Conspiracy to break elected governments is going on in the country: Gehlot
- Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal arrived in Jaipur today. He will be present in the meeting of the legislature party. State in-charge Avinash Pandey, party leaders Randeep Surjewala and Ajay Maken will also join him.
- Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted late night and hoped that the Corona crisis is expected to be openly discussed during the assembly session.
18 MLAs of Pilot faction will not stay
in the fence Two days ago, all the legislators of the Pilot faction have left the fence. He returned to Jaipur on Tuesday evening after spending a month in enclosure. The legislators’ meeting was also held at 7 pm on Wednesday at Pilot’s government residence, in which further strategy was decided. However, it was described as an informal meeting.
Pilot has previously shown his displeasure on the way Gehlot addressed him and the remarks that were made by him. It will be interesting to see who will ‘forgive and forget’ and who won’t.
There is also the whole controversy regarding the BSP MLAs joining Congress and how BJP is still opposing this decision.
BSP MLA joined Congress in September 2019, BJP MLA Madan Dilawar has challenged this in court;
Petition against 6 BSP MLAs to join Congress will be heard in the Supreme Court today. Meanwhile, the debate in the High Court could not be completed. The hearing will be held at 10.30 am on Friday. BJP MLA Madan Dilawar had filed petitions in both the courts. In this case, the BSP itself filed a petition in the High Court.
Assembly speaker CP Joshi gave approval on 18 September 2019 for BSP MLAs to join Congress. Dilawar’s appeal is that the Speaker’s order be stayed and all 6 MLAs should be prevented from voting in favor of any party in the floor test.
Demand of BSP- “Rebels should be prevented from participating in the proceedings of the assembly”
BSP has also appealed to ban its rebel MLAs from joining the floor test and to stop attending any session of the assembly. In this case, Harish Salve, Satyapal Jain, Ashish Sharma and Satish Chandra Mishra are appearing on behalf of BSP.
This petition from the BJP MLA does feel hypocritical as they themselves have been known for taking the help of other MLAs in the past.
