Delhi HC reserves order on Centre’s plea challenging stay on execution of Nirbhaya convicts

The Delhi High Court on Sunday reserved its order on a plea filed by the central government and Tihar Jail authorities challenging the order of Patiala House district court which stayed the execution of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya gang-rape and murder case.

In a relief to taxpayers, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has proposed to cut income tax rates and change slabs to lower tax incidence for those earning upto Rs 15 lakh a year. The Minister has proposed a 10 percent tax on income between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7.5 lakh from the current 20 percent now.
