Ayodhya Verdict 2019: Temple to be built on disputed land, Muslim side will get land in Ayodhya

The Supreme Court has pronounced its verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babari Masjid dispute. The constitutional bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi has unanimously declared the disputed land as Ramlala. He has ordered five acres of alternative land for Muslims to build a mosque. The court said that the central government must form a trust for the construction of the temple on the disputed land, for which the center will have to make rules within three months.

Brother of Asia’s Richest Man dragged to court for non-payment of $680 million loan

The Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Ltd., China Development Bank and the Export-Import Bank of China (Chinese Banks) have dragged Asia’s Richest man brother, Anil Dhirubhai Ambani to London court for his default of not paying back the loan amount of $680 million. ICBC lawyer told the court that $925.2 million loans were given to Reliance Communications Ltd which, Anil Ambani’s firm in the year 2012 on the condition that he will provide a personal guarantee. He added the firm made some payments, however, in 2017 they defaulted if paying the money. However, Anil, on the contrary, said that though he has agreed for a non-binding “personal comfort letter,” but he never guaranteed to ties his assets which is an “extraordinary potential personal liability.”

Infosys hired PwC to investigate Whistle-blower Complaints

Bengaluru-based IT company, Infosys has hired PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) which is one of the most prominent auditing firm and part of Big 4 to look after the alleged financial discrepancies and malpractices allegations made by the Whistleblowers. The company has already hired Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM), Tier-1 law firm to look after the legal side of the complaint of the Whistleblowers. Additionally, companies’ internal auditor Ernest & Young (Big 4) will also review its revenue recognition practices. The decision to take PwC on board was to have an investigation which will be independent of SAM and E&Y so that the companies has a fresh set of people who can look into the matter.
