The Registration of Press and Periodical (RPP) Bill, 2019 has been introduced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Tuesday. Provision, as laid under Section 18 of the bill, suggests for the regulation of digital media. It reads the publisher of news on digital media shall get registered with Registrar of Newspapers of India. The registration procedure includes the giving out of particulars of the said media house, as prescribed.

Finance Minister in Parliament: Despite slowdown, Indian economy is not a victim of recession

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday while replying to a debate in the Rajya Sabha said that there is no recession in the economy. However, she admitted that there is slowdown, due to which the growth rate has come down. Citing the first tenure of UPA-2 (2009-2014) and NDA (2014-2019), inflation rate was low in the first term of the Modi government and the growth rate was moving very fast.

It will be difficult to run to Air India, if not sold : Aviation Minister

Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said on Wednesday that if he does not privatize Air India, where will the money come from to run it. They say that Air India is a first-class property, if they sell it now, the bidders will come out. If we do not sell the airline, then it will become difficult to operate in the future.
