Bastar ‘fake’ encounter leaked report says those killed were not Maoists

After seven and a half years of an alleged encounter in the State of Chattisgarh’s Bastar region between the security forces and alleged Maosit, a court of inquiry has come to a conclusion. The alleged encounter is said to have killed seventeen villagers, including seven minors and six security personnel and ten villagers were left injured after the violent roundabout. The encounter was carried out despite no evidence on record to suggest that the killed or injured in the exchange were Maoists. The flip side of the story suggests that they were not Maoists and the police knew about the same before engaging with them. A single member inquiry commission was directed in the said case with a retired judge of the Madhya Pradesh high court, Justice V.K. Agarwal.

JMM Manifesto for Jharkhand State Assembly Elections

Jharkhand is gearing up for elections in the last month of the year. With a ruling state government led by the Bhartiya Janta Party, the opposition forces have awakened to give it a tough fight. No to Nirbhaya accused mercy petition, recommends Delhi Government. 

One of the convicts who is also convicted for the murder of the twenty-three-year-old paramedic student has filed a mercy petition before the current President, Mr Ram Nath Kovind. In response to the said mercy petition filed by a convict, the Delhi government has strongly recommended the President to reject the said petition. They have noted their recommendations to Lt. Governor Anil Baijal. Sources say that the Delhi Home Minister Satyendra Jain has moved the file in consultation with the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
