Technically skilled workers from non-European Union (EU) countries who work here are being fired. It also has people from many Asian countries. The Swedish Migration Agency has issued orders to evacuate employees. Under this, work permit is not being renewed on the basis of administrative mistakes of companies (employers). Therefore, hundreds of people have been forced to leave the country.
According to the Swarnim Times, the order to leave the country of 38-year-old Ali Omumi of Iran came in 2018 itself. He appealed against this in the court, but failed. Omumi was refused from extending the work permit. Omumi says that we worked here, paid taxes, but now feel like criminals.
There was a shortage of technical students in Sweden
Sweden lacked engineering and programming graduates. So people from other countries including Europe started coming here. Outside people started settling here due to strong economy and better life opportunities. Non-EU people require a work permit for a job in Sweden.
Many people want to leave the current job and start a new job, then they need a visa extension. For this, employees have to apply for a visa on behalf of the former employer company. The Swedish migration agency is canceling the visa extension, making a minor mistake in the company’s application. The reasons cited for canceling the application include wrong pension payment, taking long or short holidays or leaving government employment service and finding a job through LinkedIn website.
550 permits were rejected this year.
