Sengar is imprisoned in Tihar
On July 28, the rape victim was going to meet her uncle in Rae Bareli jail. On the way, her car was hit by a truck coming from the wrong direction. The victim and her lawyer were seriously injured in the accident. Her two relatives were already killed. Both are undergoing treatment at AIIMS in Delhi. The family accused MLA Kuldeep of plotting to kill her. After this, Sengar, who was lodged in Sitapur Jail on the order of the Supreme Court, was shifted to Tihar. After this the BJP expelled him from the party.

Charges were fixed in September
After the accident with the rape victim, the Supreme Court ordered the CBI to investigate in seven days. Also, its hearing was handed over to Tis Hazari court of Delhi. On August 2, additional 7 days were given for investigation. Apart from Sengar, there are three other accused and all of them are currently out on bail. In September, the Tis Hazari court framed charges against MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, accused in Unnao rape case. The court said that there is sufficient evidence against Sengar, which determines that he has raped. The court had framed charges against MLA Sengar under sections 120B, 363, 366, 109, 376 (I) of the IPC and Pocso Acts three and four.

CBI had said – the victim’s allegations are true
During the hearing, the CBI had said in the court that in the investigation in Unnao rape case we found that the allegations of the victim are absolutely true. On 4 June 2017, MLA Kuldeep Sengar conspired with Shashi Singh and raped the victim. A charge sheet was filed on this. The CBI had said that Shashi Singh took the victim to Sengar’s house on the pretext of getting her a job. At that time no one was present at home. Neither were the security personnel.
