The government came into action on Friday in the primary school of Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh for feeding 81 children by mixing 1 liter milk in a bucket of water. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath summoned education minister Satish Dwivedi. Expressing displeasure, he has sought a report of action in the case. On the other hand, an FIR was registered against the teacher (Shikshamitra) on the instructions of the top officials. The teacher in charge of the school was suspended. At the same time, DM has recommended action against the Block Education Officer.

The Yogi government has summoned officials from across the state to report on mid-day meals after disturbances in the mid-day meal at the school in Salibanwa village. So that such incidents can be stopped in future. According to the menu, Tehri and milk were to be distributed in the school on Wednesday. The amount of milk for each child is 150–200 mL.

Case came to light after the video went viral

There are 171 children in this primary school. On Wednesday, 81 children arrived at the school. Only one liter packet of milk was given to them, which was not enough. So the cook boiled a bucket of water in a large pan and added a liter of milk. After this, the children distributed a glass of milk for them to drink.

Akhilesh Yadav’s stance

Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav took a dig at the BJP government after the video of Sonbhadra’s school went viral. He tweeted- “दिखावटी भाजपा सरकार, मिलवाटी पोषण आहार।”.
