Market may look grim this Diwali as traders Protest ‘unethical’ practices of e-comm sites : CAIT

According to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), due to great slump in the businesses and absence of festive spirit, the traders across the country have decided not to decorate the markets for Diwali as a protest against "unethical business practices of eCommerce companies”. The main reason for this disappointing scenario is the increasing fame of the eCommerce market which offers huge discounts and offers on various products.

SC orders for the reconstruction of Ravi Das Temple in New Delhi

The decision was passed by a bench comprising of Justices Arun Mishra and S Ravindra Bhat. Attorney General K K Venugopal remarked that the Centre has a revised offer of offering 400 square meters, instead of the earlier offer of 200 square metre area for the temple. This increase in land area for the temple has been done keeping in view the faith and sentiments of devotees.

Bombay HC quashed the order of CCI in Star-Sony litigation

In a recent order by a division bench of Akhil Khureshi and S J Kathawalla, the order of the CCI was quashed by the Bombay High Court. The grounds of quashing the said order of probe was failed jurisdictional test as laid down in an earlier decision of the Supreme Court in Competition Commission of India v. Bharti Airtel, operating as a precedent now.

No stay on Metro Shed, extend the status quo on felling of trees: SC

The Supreme Court bench clarified that there is no stay on the said metro project rather the stay ordered by the vacation bench of the apex court comprising of Arun Mishra and Ashok Bhushan, is only limited to felling of trees in the Aarey colony.

In his petition before the High Court, he has mentioned that all his art galleries which were once covered and sold and that his work have “actively distanced themselves” from him. The crux of the petition filed by Subodh is that due to the unwelcome allegations brought out against him, it had adversely affected the sale of his art work and thus his only source of livelihood was in distress. Due to the allegations put on him, his family members and himself are facing “immense social and professional harassment”, says the petition.
